Consciousness in Movement – Alexander Technique Applied to Dance

Alexander Technique is based on a paradigm shift. A change in which we leave the vicious cycle of contraction and compression followed by correction and the inevitable return of the habit. The Technique helps us find balance, expansion instead of contraction, mobility and connection – both within ourselves and with another. We free ourselves of harmful habits by means of a more efficient use of the body-mind that is more in line with our structure.

In this workshop we will cultivate the integration of the individual by comprehending and inhibiting habitual interferences, leading to more efficient direction of force and energy. This dynamic, re-educational process brings muscle tone, an improved sensory awareness and new possibilities of posture, connection and movement without strain in order to put our intentions into action.

For people with and without experience in the Alexander Technique.
