Group Classes and One-on-One Coaching in Healthy Posture, Movement and Mental Habits
For the moment, the majority of classes are online. Online Alexander Technique work is immensely empowering. It is a superb opportunity to discover habits of thought, movement and posture, learn how to let go of harmful ones and how to develop appropriate muscle tone. In online sessions, I guide you to a greater awareness of the way you use your body and the way that your mind-body self organizes itself, and through this process of self-discovery, you learn how you yourself can release unnecessary muscular tension and allow your whole self to organize with greater musculoskeletal health (which leads to greater digestive, circulatory and overall health.)
In in-person Alexander Technique classes, I use verbal instructions (and when possible, gentle touch) to guide you through a new experience of coordinated movement.
The Alexander Technique is a process of mind-body re-education that teaches us to undo unnecessary, habitual tensions. Through simple activities, you learn to let go of immediate reactions of physical and mental tension and to allow new possibilities of movement and thought to occur. You learn to direct your energies in a way that leads to a natural, easy way of being and moving without strain or fatigue.
Private sessions are adapted to each individual’s particular interests and concerns, and group classes are a fun and dynamic way to experience the Alexander Technique. Both group classes and individual sessions are available online.
